STAFF APPRECIATION DAY

WMS 8th Grade and PTO to Host Harvest Luncheon

The 8th Grade families along with the PTO will host the first of 3 luncheons for the entire WMS Staff on Tuesday, November 13. This first luncheon will be a Fall Harvest theme. The PTO will provide the main course, but we'll still need help with the remaining items from our 8th grade families. Please click here to see what is needed and to sign up.

All items can be brought to the school security desk the day of the luncheon between 8:00-9:30am. Please contact us with any questions. Thank you for your generosity!

INTERACTIVE EDUCATION THEATER:

WMS is excited to announce that students will attend a performance by Interactive Educational Theatre in the high school auditorium on Tuesday, October 23.  The program combines humor and drama, as it addresses difficult social issues and topics by creating a comfortable learning environment for audiences. This is a performance that includes improvisational theatre techniques, allowing for interaction between the actors and the audience, which is the key to the effectiveness of the program. The actors set up commonplace scenarios that the audience might encounter and together they work toward possible solutions.  The performance will focus on anti-bullying awareness, social media, healthy relationships, and respect for others. The shows are tailored to suit the needs of different age groups, therefore two different performance are important. We would like to thank our PTO for making this event possible.

NATIONAL ALLIANCE ON MENTAL ILLNESS

Has the back-to-school honeymoon worn off? As school gets into full swing, the academic and social stresses can get to be too much, and result in behavioral changes. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Child and Adolescent Network (CAN) is a Support Group for parentsof children with behavioral, emotional and mental health issues. Themeeting is free, confidential, safe and led by trained volunteer facilitators who themselves have had personal experiences raising children with these concerns. Our meetings are a place to speak freely and be understood without embarrassment or the fear of being judged or treated differently. Parents come from Redding, Weston, Westport, Wilton and towns in the surrounding area. Our next meetings are Mondays October 22nd and November 26th, from 10-11:30, G&B Cultural Center, 49 New Street, Wilton.
